Dr. Krystal Nicole Martin

Dr. Krystal Nicole Martin is a 1988 graduate of Gloster High School,

and a 3-time graduate of Jackson State University. Since 2009, she has

served the Gloster community through her nonprofit work.

 

In 2015, she  officially launched KMartin Group/Ladybug Outreach to

support and honor the community work that had been started by her

mom, Jane “Ladybug” Martin (former Gloster Alderman).

​

By 2018, KMartin Group was established as a 501(c)3 nonprofit and

charitable organization. The purpose of the organization is to help

transform lives through advocacy, education, civic engagement,

youth mentoring, financial literacy, organizing, environmental awareness, and workforce development.

 

After serving more than 25 years as a practitioner and administrator in higher education, she returned to her hometown to help protect the environment and the public health of the residents.

 

In 2023, she officially co-founded the Greater Greener Gloster Project. The project was founded in response to the air pollution problem caused by the Drax Amite Biomass facility. Through the Greater Greener Gloster Project, she is committed to advocating for the protection of the environment and the public health of the youth and the residents of Gloster.

 

Dr. Martin is a servant leader, who is committed to being a catalyst for positive change. Her inspiration comes from Mahatma Gandhi, “be the change that you want to see in the world.”
